50 years.

50 years since we lost her, but we all know she could never be forgotton. No need to say more, except I wish she could have made herself as happy as she makes us.

I've never fooled anyone. I've let people fool themselves. They didn't bother to find out who and what I was. Instead they would invent a character for me. I wouldn't argue with them. They were obviously loving somebody I wasn't.” - Marilyn Monroe.

Great photo, I hadn't seen that one before. I watched 'How to Marry a Millionaire' recently, and I know a lot of people say that she couldn't act, but she was really quite good as a comic actress I think!

By the way, I've moved my blog to www.porcelinasworld.blogspot.com - do pay a visit!

Thank you! I hadn't seen this colour version before either, she looks more natural but more fragile than the usual glamour shots. I think her comic timing was spot on, and as we now know, she was well read and put in great efforts, she just didn't feel challenged by some of her roles.
I have added your new blog address, thanks!

Lovely photo. But what I'd really like to comment on is your old photos you found at Dougs, I too found a really special album there of a family who in the 1920s holidayed at West Bay and I turned them into cards, as I attend craft fairs and sell my cards how could I let them hide away in an album. His shop is really a treasure trove isnt it. But have the advantage of living here, so always popping in. I found your blog through searching for vintage postcards of Bridport, love your pictures of Charmouth, we used to come on holiday to Charmouth for 11 years then decided to move here, fantastic. Hi Julie! Thanks so much for your comment! I looked forward to visiting Dougs shop again for a whole year, if it hadn't of been there still my holiday wouldn't have been the same!
That is a great idea for using those lovely photographs, i'm trying to figure out the best way of portraying my collection online, rather than just on my blog, but they are okay here for now! Charmouth feels like a second home to me now, I love lyme, but it's just SO hectic this time of year! Thanks again for dropping by, i've been having a good read of your blog too! Katie x
